Abstract

|
Determination of the fibrinogen concentration in plasma is important in disease affecting the coagulation and fibrinolytic system. Many methods have been devised for the estimation of plasma fibrinogen, and probably an equal number of claims as
to
accuracy, simplicity, and reliability have been made. We adjusted the Hitachi 747 autoanalyzer for plasma fibrinogen. This methods was very simple, rapid and inexpensive. So we evaluated this method in comparison with radioimmunodiffusion (RID)
method.
Within-run and between-run precision (CV) of Hitachi 747 were 0.75% and 0.85%, respectively. the reference range in healthy adults by Hitachi 747 was 156-301 mg/dL and the correlation of the results of these two method was good(r=0.921). In
conclusion,
the automated Hitach: 747 method was considered to be useful in clinical laboratory and to be able to replace the RID method.
